As the population ages, ageism affects everyone!
Living in a society that devalues or marginalizes older adults can have psychological effects on younger individuals as well. Witnessing ageism may lead to feelings of injustice, empathy, or anxiety about their own aging process and future prospects. It can also contribute to a lack of intergenerational understanding and empathy.
